Skiing in Lebanon, and Faraya Mzaar in particular, is no longer the well kept secret it was in the years
past. An excellently operated ski resort with slopes of varying
degrees of challenge, coupled with “on the slopes” hotels and with
one being part of the world class
InterContinental chain, are hard to
keep secret from the skiers and snowboarders of the world.
The five star InterContinental Mzaar hotel in Lebanon
Faraya Mzaar ski resort is
situated just above the village of Ouyoune
El Simane in the Kfardebian (or Faraya as it is commonly called) area of Mount Lebanon. It is
Lebanon's finest ski resort and the area's
connected skiing domains boast more than 80 kilometers of ski runs
with a capacity of 20.000 skiers per hour, 18 ski lifts
and 10 snow grooming machines servicing the slopes. The Mzaar peak
sits at an altitude of 2465 meters and on clear days offers
spectacular views of Lebanon's capital Beirut and Jounieh.
The Faraya Mzaar ski resort area in the
Kfardebian area of Mount Lebanon offers excellent choices
for accommodation, ranging from the luxurious five star InterContinental
Mountain Resort and Spa at Mzaar, to basic and very affordable dormitory
or chalet accommodation. Our
experience over the many years we are organizing ski trips
to the area has led us to focus on offering "on the slopes"
hotels, with the exceptions of the
Hotel and the
Chateau D' eau Hotel.
These three hotels offer the great benefit to every skier of
not having to worry about road conditions and to be able to
hit the slopes as soon as the lifts start operating.
This of course comes without compromising on the quality of
the accommodation or the prices one has to pay. As
some of our fellow skier customers have demanded it we are
also offering accommodations in the high
ski resort in Lebanon.
Lebanon's mountains are blessed with an abundance of
snowfall each year. The first snow usually descends in
September at the highest peak of Mount Lebanon, the Cornet
Es Saudat (elevation 3083 meters above sea level) which is
right above the Cedars
ski resort. By January the snowline goes down to
1200 meters, with snowfall often continuing at higher
elevations until March. The skiing season at Faraya
Mzaar ski resort usually spans from the
end of December
until the beginning of April.
To enjoy a ski holiday in Lebanon plan early as it is
100% certain that hotels on the ski slopes will be filled to
capacity each and every weekend. Book your hotel early
with us to make sure you ski Lebanon at its best!
